On 23 October, we hosted the regional networking event “Trusted AI in Saarland” together with East Side Fab at the VisCenter at DFKI Saarbrücken – an evening full of exciting insights and open discussions.
The event was opened by Dr. Simon Ostermann who presented CERTAIN and introduced the topic of Trusted AI.
The introduction was followed by three different perspectives on Trusted AI: legal, industrial and start-up. As an expert in the fields of data protection, cybersecurity, and IT and contract law, attorney Christina Ziegler-Kiefer, LL.M from reuschlaw spoke on “AI and Law: Regulation, Liability, and Compliance in Practice.”. Prof. Dr. Andreas Hildebrandt, Professor of Scientific Computing and Bioinformatics at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and Managing Director of MONDATA GmbH, gave a short presentation on “Generative AI needs trust – why it only works as Trusted AI in companies.” Following the legal and business perspectives, Lukas Bieringer, Head of Policy & Grants at QuantPi, provided input from the field of AI system testing with “Challenges and Methods for Testing AI Systems in Practice” and highlighted the importance of systematic testing of AI systems for trust, security, and traceability.
The keynote speeches were followed by a panel discussion with the speakers. The event concluded with networking in a relaxed atmosphere over drinks and snacks.
A big thank you to everyone who attended – on stage, in the audience, and at the networking event.
