As part of an initiative from GovTech Campus Deutschland aimed at ensuring effective human oversight of AI systems, a diverse group of around 50 AI and data experts from federal organizations, academia, and civil society are being brought together. They meet under the guidance of Johann Laux from the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford to develop frameworks for meaningful human control over automated decision-making systems.
The first result of this initiative was the research paper „How to Test for Compliance with Human Oversight Requirements in AI Regulation?“ co-authored by Kevin Baum for the CHI’25 conference in Japan.
