On 23 April 2025 CERTAIN Executive Board member André Meyer-Vitali published an overview of the standardisation landscape in context of the AI Act. The article deals with the fact that many aspects of the introduction of the AI regulation still need to be defined so that a thorough review can take place. It looks at the landscape of standardisation, defines risks and the associated trust.

CERTAIN was at HANNOVER MESSE 2025 as part of the Trusted AI innovation field. There we showed concrete examples of how the core technical objectives of CERTAIN can be achieved: Guarantees by design, guarantees through tools, Guarantees through insight and guarantees through interaction. In addition, CERTAIN did also address the political dimension of trustworthy AI at the trade fair, proposed a ‘CERN for AI’ and emphasied the need for European standards and certification procedures.

As CERTAIN, we had the opportunity to participate in the GovTech Colloquium on Human Oversight at the GovTech Campus Germany in Berlin. This inter-disciplinary event provided an opportunity for discussions between policy makers and researchers from law, psychology, computer science and philosophy.

On 6-11 February CERTAIN Advisory Board Members Prof. Philipp Slusallek and Prof. Kristian Kersting, joined by Prof. Antonio Krüger and Prof. Andreas Dengel from DFKI attended the AI Action Summit in Paris.
